ESPN reported that Onana will be on loan after she decides to leave Manchester United.

Onana will go to Türkiye the next day after participating in the World Cup qualifiers in Cameroon against Cape Verde on Thursday. Sources said Onana will complete a season-long loan once a consensus is reached with Manchester United.

Sources revealed that the deal does not involve a rental fee and there is no option to buy out. This means that the contract will be back to Manchester United until 2028.

Onana was eager to stay at Manchester United and fight for his position. However, after Ramens joined from Antwerp, Onana decided to leave.

Onana is also worried that his pick in the team has dropped after Manchester United coach Amorin chose Baindel in three Premier League matches against Arsenal, Fulham and Burnley.

Onana accepted Amorin's decision to exclude him from the roster in his first round 0-1 loss to Arsenal, as he missed his entire preseason plan due to a hamstring injury. But he was disappointed that he was unable to return to the roster against Fulham and Burnley, and Lamens’ arrival exacerbated the feeling that if he stayed, the chances for the first team this season could be limited.

Onana's loan departure will end his two years at Manchester United, joining from Inter in 2023 for an initial transfer fee of £43.8 million.
