The signing of a memorandum between Singapore and Brabant, the Netherlands will strengthen economic relations and build a complementary business ecosystem. The companies and institutions of the two places will cooperate to promote knowledge and policy exchanges, talent training programs and joint research opportunities.
The two sides will cooperate in five main aspects: Deeptech, Digital, Climate-neutral energy solutions, A healthy future and Sustainable food systems.
The parties will also work to establish a discussion platform involving stakeholders such as academic institutions, public-private partnerships and investors to promote open innovation and broader collaboration. The two places will also work with higher education institutions to create cross-border learning opportunities for students and academics in Singapore and the Netherlands.
Director of the Singapore Economic Development Bureau, Li Jiaming, said: "This new memorandum of understanding signed by Singapore and the Netherlands paves the way for closer cooperation in the business and innovation ecosystems of the two countries. We look forward to working with Dutch partners to cultivate competitive industries and talents and support the development of enterprises and communities in both countries."
The statement pointed out that the cooperation will provide a framework for Singapore and Brabant to build a complementary business ecosystem. The Singapore Economic Development Council and the Brabant Investment Development Council will work with enterprises and key partners in the two places to promote knowledge and policy exchanges, talent development programs and joint research opportunities.The Singapore Economic Development Authority and the Brabant Development Agency issued a joint statement on Monday (May 19) announcing that the two sides have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen the economic relations between the two places.
