Purchasing knowledge of teak flooring - How to maintain teak flooring?
Purchase knowledge of teak flooring
Among the floor decorations, wood flooring is a high-end decoration, and teak flooring has the characteristics of moisture-proof, moth-resistant, stable and excellent stability, and is the best among floors. Teak is a rare tree species and its material is very rare. It is produced in Southeast Asia, such as Myanmar, Indonesia, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, India. There are also some areas close to my country's Yunnan border, among which teak produced in Myanmar is the best.
Teak itself has a special wood texture, and the wood in Indonesia and Myanmar each has its own strengths. Indonesian teak is more obvious in strength and toughness, but its elasticity and shrinkage are poor; Myanmar teak is better in the above aspects, and the best finished materials are produced with "Wacheng" %.
You can make an identification from the following aspects. Because the wood grain, color, and even the density of the wood grain of the two are very similar, it is really hard to distinguish between the authenticity. In fact, consumers can distinguish the authenticity when purchasing teak floors. Although the appearance and density of black-core wood lotus and teak are similar, there are still big differences between the two due to different materials. Taking the unpainted plain board as an example, there is the following simple method of identification:
After looking at the smoothness of the floor surface, the surface of the teak floor is very smooth and the feel is very delicate, as if it was soaked in oil, while the black-core wood lotus appears rough.
Smell, teak itself emits a sour smell, similar to the smell after rice is rotten, while black-core wood lotus has no such smell.
Three drops, two drops of water are divided into two drops of water from the absorbency on the fake teak floor. The water is quickly absorbed, while when the paintless place of the real teak floor, the teak floor absorbs water slowly and has almost no water absorption.
Four pinches, the sawdust on the real teak floor has a heavy oily texture, and it feels soft when pinching with your hands, while the sawdust on the fake teak floor is dry and loose.
Maintenance of teak floor
1. In normal times, you should not let heavy and hard objects knock or fall on the floor. Do not push and pull the furniture when moving it. It should be lifted to avoid friction on the floor and cracks. It is best not to wear high heels and hard-soled shoes indoors, but flat soft heels are the best.
2. Generally, newly laid floors should be maintained once a month. You can apply a layer of floor wax on it, and after a certain period of time, it can be once a season or once every six months. Do not use essential oils, liquid waxes and other floor maintenance products, as they will destroy the natural oiliness of the teak itself.
3. After installing the teak floor, you must move in as soon as possible, open the windows regularly to ventilate, and pay attention to adjusting the indoor air temperature and humidity to prevent the floor from soaking in water. Remember to close the doors and windows when going out, and do not let the rain water wet the floor. If you accidentally pour the water on the floor, you should also apply it dry quickly to keep it dry to avoid affecting the luster.
Cleaning of teak floor
1. If it is general dirt left by water-soluble substances, you can first wipe off the dust, and then wipe it with a soft rag dipped in thick tea water, rinse water or orange peel water soaked with orange peel. This not only removes dirt, but also restores the luster of the paint film.
2. If it is dirt that is difficult to remove, such as phlegm, scented glue, oil paint, etc., do not rush to wipe it with gasoline to prevent static electricity from friction and cause fire. The nature of the dirt must be carefully divided before deciding to take different methods and different detergents to clean it.
3. Usually, wax it after a period of time. Before waxing, you need to remove the dust. You can use a vacuum cleaner to suck it on the wax with a clean, non-hair-free rag, and start from one edge of the floor and wipe it in a ring shape on the board surface at a time. Rub evenly and repeat with a rag from the edge of the beginning.
