According to British media talkSPORT, Manchester United will start their preseason journey on Saturday, against Leeds United in Sweden.

Manchester United will first face the newly promoted Leeds United in Stockholm. Leeds United won the English Championship last season and returned to the Premier League.

Although no official reason is given, the Red Devils often travel to Scandinavia for preseason games.

Manchester United has a deep relationship with Sweden and has three players who have served as captains of the Swedish national team, including Henrik Larson, Ibrahimovic and Lindelof. Manchester United also owned three other Swedish players, 1999 triumphal Blomquist, as well as youth training productions Ilanga and Gurditch.

Manchester United and Leeds United also recently had a history of preseason games in Scandinavia, where they played in 2015 and 2023.

The last time Manchester United visited Strawberry Arena was in the 2017 Europa League final, when they defeated Ajax 2-0 and won the Europa League championship trophy for the first time in team history.

Meanwhile, Leeds United also has a strong fan base in Sweden.
