The new memory "UltraRAM" that combines DRAM and NAND advantages has greatly promoted its business process. According to foreign media reports, Quinas Technology, the developer of UltraRAM, has continuously cooperated with advanced crystal product manufacturer IQE over the past year to promote UltraRAM memory production to industrial scale.
Foreign media Blocks & Files and Tom’s Hardware report pointed out that this cooperation has been successful, and UltraRAM is regarded as a new memory that combines DRAM and NAND advantages. It has high-speed operation like DRAM, ultra-low switching energy consumption with a durability of 4,000 times higher than NAND, and has a data preservation capability of up to thousands of years. It is now in vector production.
The report pointed out that the design has made significant progress mainly because of the breakthrough in epitaxial technology using gallium antimonide and aluminium antimonide, and is the world's first, which will help UltraRAM truly enter mass production.
It is known that UltraRAM is quite reliant on epitaxial technology, and it will be possible to construct memory chip structures through semiconductor processes such as exposure and etching.
IQE executive director Jutta Meier pointed out that "we have successfully achieved our goal of developing an expandable epitaxy process for UltraRAM, which is an important milestone in the industrial production of packaging chips. This project represents a unique opportunity to realize the next generation of composite semiconductor materials in the UK."
Quinas executive and co-founder James Ashforth-Pook also said that the outcome of this collaboration is a turning point in the journey of researching mi to business memory products from university. It is known that in the next business path, Quinas and IQE plans and major crystal factories and partners will explore the possibility of trial production.
