Qualcomm today (24th) launches the latest platforms Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme and Snapdragon X2 Elite at the Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii, and is expected to be launched in the first half of 2026 with the device expected to be launched in the first half of 2026.
The Snapdragon X2 Elite series also uses tyre-electric N3P process and is equipped with Qualcomm's self-made third-generation Oryon CPU, providing ultra-high performance and excellent energy efficiency performance. Among them, the Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme has up to 18 cores and is the first Arm-compatible CPU to reach 5.0 GHz. Qualcomm pointed out that this time-speed, combined with hardware matrix acceleration and ultra-low-latency large cache, can bring real-time reaction speed for creation of records in multiple processing, web browsing and content creation.
Among them, under the same power consumption (ISO power), the third-generation Oryon CPU has increased by 31% compared to the previous generation, with a power consumption reduced by 43%, and the CPU performance is 75% faster than the competitors; the Adreno GPU architecture is also 2.3 times higher than the previous generation in terms of performance and power consumption efficiency per watt, and can reach up to 1.85 GHz; the Hexagon NPU has 80 TOPS AI computing power, and compared with the previous generation, its TOPS (INT8) is increased by 78%, which can achieve AI coherence experience in Copilot+ PCs.
Qualcomm pointed out that the Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme is specially used for professionals. It has extremely efficient performance, long-term battery sustainability and extremely fast AI computing capabilities. It can handle complex and professional workloads such as proxy AI experience, computing-intensive data analysis, professional media editing and scientific research. It is the fastest, most powerful and most efficient processor on Windows PCs.
In addition, Snapdragon X2 Elite launches a new management function, "Snapdragon Guardian Technology", which combines hardware, software and cloud services, and is paired with Wi-Fi and 5G connections, allowing enterprises and end users to manage, locate, lock and clear their laptops almost anywhere.
Qualified Vice President and General Manager of the Computing and Games Department of Qualcomm said that Snapdragon X2 Elite has strengthened its leading position in the PC industry, and has achieved milestone progress in efficiency, AI computing and battery sustainability to create an excellent experience for consumers. Qualcomm will continue to break through the boundaries of technological innovation, launch breakthrough products with new industry standards, and redefine the endless possibilities of PCs.
