NVIDIA launched its first Blackwell wafer manufactured in the United States on the 17th, produced at TSMC Arizona's Arizona wafer fab (TSMC Arizona), marking a new milestone. NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang also attended the celebration ceremony in person.

NVIDIA’s official blog post wrote that this move “strengthens the U.S. supply chain and returns the stack of AI technology to the United States, turning data into wisdom and ensuring the U.S.’s leadership in the AI era.” This echoes U.S. President Donald Trump’s policy of promoting U.S. technology and manufacturing leadership.

"This is a historic moment with multiple meanings. This is the first time in modern American history that the most important chip is produced in the United States, and it is manufactured in the United States by TSMC, the world's most advanced wafer foundry." Huang Renxun said in a speech at the celebration ceremony.

NVIDIA pointed out that the Arizona wafer fab produces technologies and products including 2nm, 3nm and 4nm processes as well as Apple A16 chips. These chips are very important for AI, HPC, telecommunications and other applications.

In the next four years, NVIDIA plans to cooperate with TSMC, Hon Hai, Wistron, Aker, and Silicon Products to produce AI infrastructure worth up to $500 billion in the United States.

TSMC recently announced its third-quarter financial report, with consolidated revenue (Taiwan dollars, the same below) of 989.92 billion yuan, an annual increase of 30.3%, net profit of 452.3 billion yuan, an annual increase of 39.1%, and diluted earnings per share of 17.44 yuan (US$2.92 per American depositary receipt). It also revised its full-year revenue forecast upward, mainly due to the market's optimistic outlook for AI spending.

▲ TSMC released a video to celebrate this milestone, and founder Chang Chung-mou offered his blessing.
